qu'est-ce que c'est "ciné-balade" ?

When you hear "Paris in the movies", a thousand images and stories immediately spring to mind. Ciné-Balade was born of the desire to show and tell them.

With a background as a film historian, I launched the Ciné-Balade concept in 2011, with the aim of using cinema as a means of rediscovering Paris as a tourist and cultural destination.

When the Ciné-Balade structure was created, the idea was already to combine the history of cinema and the history of the city, and to show how one can tell the story of the other. The advent of the digital tablet in 2010 was one of the triggers. We needed to be able to illustrate these brand-new and unusual guided tours with images and film extracts, so as to enable participants, whether tourists or locals, to immerse themselves in an era, a setting and a filmmaker's eye.

Today, the tablet is not the same as it was in the beginning - there's even a small collection! - and some fifteen walks are available in the catalog. Some of these have been created in collaboration with festivals, museums and local authorities.

For a number of years now, I've been extending the Paris guided tour experience with more original discoveries in places that are usually closed to tourists: projection rooms, film laboratories, etc., accompanied by other experienced guides or teachers in the field of image education. These proposals are included in our made-to-measure catalog and are aimed primarily at companies, associations and school groups.

Ciné-Balade is still the only Parisian structure specializing in these urban and cinematographic crossings. To our great delight and, I hope, yours too :)

Where?

In Paris, in neighborhoods as diverse as Montmartre, Belleville, the Latin Quarter, Passy and the Grands Boulevards.
But also in Greater Paris, at the Puces de Saint-Ouen, Montreuil or Saint-Denis!

For whom?

Parisians who want to rediscover their city in a different way, day-trippers, French-speakers, English-speakers, film buffs and the curious!

The very first?

The first ciné-balade was created in 2011. It's still in the program. It's the Lumière tour about the cinema pioneers around the Opéra!

The favorite?

You tell us ;)
