Schools and CINeMA
We support schools and teachers in their cinema-related educational projects. The guided tours offered by Ciné-Balade are designed to immerse young audiences in a cinematographic heritage that has sometimes disappeared, and to shed light on filmmakers’ views of our society.
For each level of education (schools, high schools and universities) we offer tours adapted to school curricula, and in a fun way, we explore Paris and its inner suburbs, following in the footsteps of the pioneers of cinema and its most emblematic directors.

Elementary and middle schools
For younger visitors, especially elementary and middle school pupils, we recommend 3 tours: The Paris of animated movies, near Notre-Dame or in Montmartre, a history of Paris in moving pictures, with an introduction to early techniques and optical toys; The childhood of cinema, in the Opéra and Grands Boulevards districts, with its pioneers and the history of movie theaters; In the footsteps of Georges Méliès, in Montreuil, the discovery of the first director and inventor of special effects.
These tours are drawn from our catalog, but have been redesigned to suit the young audience and educational objectives.

High schools and universities
High schools and universities
For high-school and university students, in addition to tours on Méliès and the childhood of cinema, we guide teachers toward the New Wave and its authors: François Truffaut movie tour, in the 9th arrondissement, the neighborhood of his childhood and his greatest films; Jean-Luc Godard movie tour, in the Latin Quarter and around the Sorbonne, a history of the New Wave; Agnès Varda movie tour, in the 14th arrondissement, a feminist pioneer and multiple artist.
If you’d like to explore a specific theme in greater depth, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
