François Truffaut movie tour

François Truffaut movie tour, between childhood memories and unforgettable film scenes, a guided tour in the footsteps of a leading filmmaker of the New Wave.

As the embodiment of the New Wave, the filmmaker gives us the perfect setting for a cine-walk, with Paris streets as the backdrop. You’ll stroll through his favorite neighborhood—where he grew up and discovered his passion for film. Around Place de Clichy, the film The 400 Blows gave birth to young Antoine Doinel, his loyal spokesperson for nearly 20 years. In the same area, movie theaters constantly remind us of his love for cinema. Sets, living places, characters, actors, and friends guide this tour.

WHAT OUR VISITORS SAY

  • A real pleasure

Retracing François Truffaut’s footsteps in the 9th and 18th arrondissements of Paris on a beautiful June Sunday, while listening to the passionate Juliette, was a real pleasure. Through our conversations, we rediscovered the filmmaker as a rebellious child and learned many things about his life and work we hadn’t known. Highly recommended!

  • Fascinating

A personal tour of the 9th arrondissement with Juliette in the footsteps of François Truffaut, his many films (especially The 400 Blows), and his peers like Charles Aznavour, Alain Resnais, Jeanne Moreau, etc. Juliette is a passionate and very flexible guide, even with large groups. We followed her route with a big group of friends, and Juliette adapted the path immediately and effortlessly so everyone could follow at their own pace. We would’ve gladly stayed longer and highly recommend!

  • Interesting walk

Heartfelt thanks for yesterday’s Truffaut walk, allowing me to discover the heart of the 9th arrondissement, usually far from my Left Bank routine. The content, relevance, tools (thanks for the iPad film clips!), and especially the tone made it an interesting, informative, and fun tour, not even spoiled by the bad weather (it could’ve rained worse!). See you next time for sure.
